Overview

Forever Teaching is recruiting confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Greater Manchester on a day-to-day, flexible basis. This is a great opportunity if you're looking for variety, work that fits around other commitments, or a pathway into education.

As a Cover Supervisor, you'll step in on behalf of the class teacher to lead pre-planned lessons, keep pupils on task, and maintain a calm, productive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of the class teacher
  • Deliver pre-planned work set by teaching staff and ensure learning objectives are followed
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies
  • Engage and motivate pupils, maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere
  • Take registers and follow school safeguarding and health & safety procedures
  • Provide feedback to the school at the end of the day (progress, behaviour, completed work)
  • Support with general classroom routines and expectations
The Ideal Candidate
  • Experience working with young people (schools, tutoring, coaching, youth work, etc.) is desirable
  • Confident leading a classroom and managing behaviour appropriately
  • Calm, professional, and adaptable to different schools and year groupsStrong communication skills and the ability to follow school policiesA positive attitude and commitment to safeguarding
