The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as a Course Leader within the Creative Industries section of the Health and Social Care department. As a Course Leader, you will be responsible for delivering high‑quality teaching, learning, and assessment to ensure successful learner outcomes and maximise the potential of every student to progress to their chosen destination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach students enrolled in a range of courses as assigned by your line manager, ensuring your teaching develops outstanding learners.
  • Implement appropriate feedback and assessment systems to accurately check learning, adapting teaching as required to ensure learner progress
  • Lead the staff in your delivery team under the management of the Curriculum Manager.
  • Operate within the Quality Assurance framework
  • Manage courses or parts of courses as required, including administration and organisation
  • Contribute to curriculum innovation, development, and implementation
  • Maintain a professional learning environment in the classroom consistently implementing the College’s behaviour management processes as required
  • Provide managers with accurate, timely, and up‑to‑date written and verbal reports about the performance of your curriculum
  • Demonstrate comprehensive curriculum knowledge.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Possess a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in a related area, a PGCE, experience of teaching on Health course at level 2 and 3 including T‑level.
  • Experience Leading a team and teaching experience within a Further Education college across L2 & L3 health and social care qualifications including T‑level is essential.
  • Possess sufficient breadth and / or depth of specialist knowledge to lead the curriculum provision and teach on programmes in the area.
  • Recent industry‑related experience relevant to the academic discipline
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant course subject matter and examination and assessment requirements
  • Understanding of value added and the use of progress performance measures
  • Experience of developing and maintaining external partnerships to enrich teaching and learning.
  • Ability to motivate, support and lead the work of a curriculum team co‑ordinating effort to meet Key Performance Indicators
