Stafforce are Recruiting for B2 Counterbalance Forklift Drivers to work as part of our Ports Team Unloading/Loading Vessels for our prestigious client who are a National Port Operator based in Kings Lynn.

Overview

The role involves working Monday to Friday and could involve additional weekend work at times. You will need to be flexible regarding shift start times as this is a tidal port and the pay rate includes a shift premium for this reason. The role is varied as the port currently handles timber, aggregates, salt, grain & fertiliser cargos. You will primarily drive an FLT but could also be asked to work as a Slinger Banksman, Front End Loader Driver when required and additional training will be provided where required.

Responsibilities
  • Work across port operations and bagging operations, with shifts up to 12 hours long and day and night availability as required.
  • Operate a B2 Forklift with the ability to perform duties across multiple port operations.
  • Potential to work as a Slinger/Banksman or Front End Loader Driver when required.
  • Attend and complete required training and courses as part of the recruitment and ongoing development.
  • Be part of a team in a physically demanding environment and contribute to safe, efficient operations.
Qualifications
  • A valid B2 Forklift Licence with a minimum of 12 months proven experience (in-house certificates cannot be accepted).
  • A Slinger/Banksman certificate is preferred but not essential, as full training can be provided.
  • Compulsory drug and alcohol testing; must pass screening prior to assignment and on a random basis.
  • Safety Critical Medical as part of the recruitment process to ensure fitness for work.
  • Attendance of training courses if not already attained: CHIPS (Cargo Handling in Ports), Ammonium Nitrate Awareness.
  • Ideally some previous experience in cargo handling, logistics, or heavy industry (not essential – full training provided in other areas).
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a physically demanding environment and a commitment to working safely.
