Cost Engineer/Senior Cost Engineer -- Contract Role

Day rate: £450 - £470 day Umbrella - Inside IR35

Contract Duration: 12m (Ongoing)

Location: Somerset, UK

Spencer Ogden is partnering with a major energy infrastructure programme to hire a Senior Cost Engineer to join the Integrated Project Controls function for one of the UK's largest nuclear new-build projects.

You'll act as a key cost & forecasting lead within your programme area, managing contract values up to £500m, driving high-quality reporting, and providing critical insights to support project decision-making. Working with Cost Engineers and wider IPC teams, you'll ensure cost, schedule, risk and change are fully aligned across the project.

What you'll do
  • Lead cost & forecasting activities across your designated programme area
  • Maintain accurate CBS/WBS-aligned forecasts and cost data (EcoSys, SAP)
  • Produce high-quality reporting and performance insights
  • Support risk/opportunity reviews and scenario planning
  • Mentor junior cost engineers and drive best practice
  • Present cost data at senior governance forums and programme reviews
