Overview
Are you passionate about cooking wholesome food that brings comfort and nourishment? We’re looking for a dedicated Cook to join our friendly team at Westhaven. Shifts will be as per the Home's roster, and some weekend work will be involved.
Responsibilities
- Implement and supervise all aspects of kitchen control (menus, hygiene, health and safety, cleaning, and waste control).
- Have full understanding of HACCP and ensure all staff adhere to HACCP and documentation is completed and signed by appropriate staff.
- Prepare seasonal menus for the care home taking into account content, balance, and nutritional value, in line with agreed budgets.
- Consult with residents regularly to ensure their needs and choices are met.
- Prepare special diets for residents as directed by the care staff.
- Maintain a suitable, safe, and cost-effective stock level of food.
- Implement and maintain an agreed deep cleaning schedule for the kitchen.
- Ensure that all catering areas are kept clean, tidy and in good working order.
Requirements
- Relevant qualification or suitable experience of cooking in volume and catering for a variety of dietary needs, including preparation and presentation of soft/pureed foods when necessary (IDSSI knowledge or training would be beneficial).
- Ability to demonstrate safeguarding and confidentiality.
