Job Title: Conveyancing Secretary / Paralegal

Location: Stony Stratford, Milton Keynes

Salary: Competitive - Dependent on Experience

Permanent | Full-Time: Monday to Friday 09:00-17:15

Overview

Our client, a well-established law firm in Stony Stratford, is seeking an experienced Conveyancing Secretary / Paralegal to support the Partner with a full range of residential property matters. This is a hands‑on role covering sales, purchases, new builds, shared ownership, transfers of equity and mortgage transactions, with full involvement from instruction through to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with sales and purchases, including new build and shared ownership matters.
  • Handle transfer of equity and mortgage transactions.
  • Liaise with estate agents, buyer and seller solicitors.
  • Raise and respond to legal enquiries.
  • Undertake anti-money laundering and conflict checks.
  • Assist Partners and Accounts with source of funds and source of wealth checks.
  • Prepare and check sales contracts.
  • Collate and manage all supporting legal documentation.
  • Deal with transactions from initial instruction through to completion.
  • Maintain regular client contact via telephone, email and in person.
  • Liaise with the Land Registry, submit applications and deal with requisitions.
  • Submit SDLT applications and deal with stamp duty regulations.
  • Support with management company requirements where necessary.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience within residential conveyancing as a Secretary or Paralegal.
  • Confident liaising with clients, solicitors and external bodies.
  • Strong understanding of the conveyancing process from start to finish.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Professional, reliable and client-focused.
Desirable
  • Strong experience using the Land Registry portal.
  • Experience dealing with SDLT applications and requisitions
