Job description

Salary: £26,000 – £29,000 per annum

They are currently seeking an experienced Conveyancing Assistant to join their dynamic Residential Property team in Scunthorpe. This is a fantastic opportunity to further your conveyancing career in a busy, well-respected firm where you’ll work alongside some of the region’s best lawyers.

The department handles a wide variety of residential conveyancing matters, including:

  • Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
  • Remortgages
  • Transfer of equity and equity release
  • Landlord purchases
  • Shared ownership
  • New builds
The Role
  • Liaising with clients, banks, building societies, and estate agents
  • Preparing and sending quotes and taking client instructions
  • Opening and managing client files using our case management system
  • Drafting contracts and dealing with day-to-day file progressions
  • Reporting to clients on mortgage offers
  • Checking search results and raising relevant enquiries
  • Drafting and preparing search reports
  • Completing SDLT forms and managing registrations and post-completion duties
  • Handling document preparation, accounts, letters, invoices, and SDLT submissions
  • Preparing for and dealing with completions
The Person
  • Proven experience working as a Conveyancing Assistant
  • Proactive, client-focused, and highly organised
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to manage multiple files under pressure while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong IT skills and familiarity with conveyancing case management systems
