Overview

Contracts & Procurement Lawyer — £44,075 - £51,356 per year with a market supplement of £7,703 (reviewable annually). Permanent. Full time with a range of flexibilities, including hybrid working, aligned to our Worksmart arrangements. Location: Honiton.

Responsibilities
  • Advise, draft, negotiate and complete legal documents relating to contract law, including grant agreements, funding and management agreements, facility agreements, terms and conditions of business, amendments to standard JCT contracts, contractual arrangements for the delivery of major projects/services, and contract/procurement work.
  • Review the Council’s contract standing orders and provide legal support for the Council’s procurement officer as lead practitioner for contracts and procurement.
About you

Qualified to practice as a solicitor or barrister in England and Wales with experience in providing advice in respect of a wide range of contracts and procurement matters. You’ll be a confident and organised individual, with the ability to effectively prioritise your own workload and to work with colleagues within the Legal team and across the Council. You must be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team as well as have good attention to detail.
