Job Description
  • Handle and manage financial services litigation matters, including contract disputes and regulatory issues.
  • Provide strategic legal advice to internal stakeholders to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Collaborate with external counsel to ensure effective case management and representation.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting the financial services industry.
  • Support employment law matters as needed, leveraging expertise to address workplace-related disputes.
  • Advise on litigation strategy and assist in preparing for hearings, trials, and mediations.
  • Foster strong working relationships across departments to provide cohesive legal support.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Contract Litigation Counsel should have:

  • A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York or Texas State Bar in good standing.
  • Extensive experience in financial services litigation, including contract disputes.
  • Familiarity with employment law, with prior exposure considered a plus.
  • Background in a large law firm, demonstrating the ability to manage complex litigation matters.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • A proactive approach to legal problem-solving and risk management.
