A healthcare organization in the UK seeks a full-time Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join their multidisciplinary team in Bournemouth. The role involves providing community-based services for young people and offers a competitive salary package along with relocation support. Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust presents an exciting opportunity for a full-time Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist or Specialist Dr to work in the Bournemouth and Christchurch area. The closing date is 28 September 2025.
The post is based in the coastal university town in the southeast of Dorset. The post holder will work 10 PA within the Bournemouth and Christchurch core CAMHS team alongside a substantive Consultant and a well-resourced multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive community-based services to young people up to age 18 registered with general practitioners within the area.
It is essential that you will be expected to maintain Section 12 (2) and be an Approved Clinician.
As a senior professional, your role will include activities supporting both direct clinical contacts and service delivery. You may be asked to take part in the On-call rota unless an exemption is made following discussion with the Medical Director / Deputy Medical Director.
Consultant only: We offer a recruitment and retention payment of £20,000 to be paid in monthly instalments for the first year of employment. We can provide a generous relocation package of up to £10,000 if you are interested in moving to Dorset.
There would be scope to take up posts within the Medical Leadership Team including Medical Education for 1 or 2 PA if a non-clinical role is of interest to the applicant.
You will be expected to work as part of an outreach-focused multidisciplinary mental health team and work jointly and flexibly with colleagues from Social Services, Education, and health colleagues in other Trusts.
