Consultant Psychiatrist – General Adult Psychiatry, CMHT (10PA).

RRP payment Payable. This post will attract a Recruitment & Retention Premia of £40k payable on commencement of employment. Eligibility criteria do apply. Staff currently employed by the Trust would not be eligible to apply for this recruitment and retention premia.

We are seeking to recruit a substantive Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Older Adult CMHT based in Kendal, on the cusp of the lake district. The post is full time (10PA). The well–established CMHT is based at Barclays House in Kendal. This is a varied role involving community clinics, home visits, care home liaison and a MAS clinic.

The post holder will work with a multidisciplinary team including nurse consultant, psychologist, community mental health nurses, occupational therapy, HCA and trainee advanced clinical practitioner. An active monthly peer group meeting of medical colleagues within the Cumbria locality also exists.

Responsibilities
  • Consultant On Call rota (0.5 PA + 5% supplement)
  • Community clinics, home visits, care home liaison and MAS clinic
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team including nurse consultant, psychologist, community mental health nurses, occupational therapy, HCA and trainee advanced clinical practitioner
Qualifications
  • Full GMC registration and inclusion on the Specialist Register of the GMC (or eligible for entry to the Specialist Register within 6 months of the interview date)
  • Section 12 Approve at the time of commencing employment and approval for Clinician Status
The role
  • At least 2.5 SPAs as standard for a full time post (we would be flexible in looking at enhancements to support other activities that support the wider ambitions of the Trust)
