Job summary

A leading healthcare provider in Brighton is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist for their Mental Health Liaison Team. The role involves providing specialist assessments and treatment, ensuring continuity of care, and developing new care pathways. Ideal candidates will have a medical degree, GMC registration, and experience in mental health. Qualifications

  • On the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of appointment.
  • Approved clinician status or able to achieve within three months of appointment.
  • Approved under S12 or able to achieve within three months of appointment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist medical and psychiatric assessment and treatment to patients.
  • Support the wider nursing team and deliver continuity of care.
  • Develop and implement new care pathways and integrated psychiatric care.
  • Teach and train undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Skills

Excellent knowledge in the specialty and bio-psycho-social clinical skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
Ability to work with both general adult and older adult patients
Ability to deliver undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and training
Active participation in clinical audit and quality improvement

Education

MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise
