Job description

Consultant Psychiatrist – CAMHS – South West England – Perm/FTC

Triple West Medical has been appointed by an NHS Trust in South West England to assist in recruiting a Consultant Psychiatrist in CAMHS, either on a substantive basis or a minimum 12-month locum FTC.

The Trust is one of the largest in the area, with over 6,000 staff providing a wide range of services, including mental health, learning disability, and adult social care across the region. The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic and friendly department of psychiatrists, with services including inpatient, community, specialist, and emergency care.

Brief Duties:
  1. Provide psychiatric services for children and young people.
  2. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and other agencies in health and social care.
  3. Assess mental states, formulate diagnoses, advise on treatment, and monitor risks in conjunction with the MDT.
  4. Engage creatively with agencies involved with children and young people (e.g., Paediatrics, Schools, Drug and Alcohol services, Voluntary sector, Local Authority).
  5. Undertake referral meetings and case reviews as needed.
  6. Offer case-based discussion and teaching opportunities to the MDT.
  7. Respond to emergencies and unforeseen circumstances in consultation with colleagues.
  8. Provide cross-cover for other consultants when required.
  9. Adhere to all relevant safeguarding policies and procedures.
  10. Work closely with other CAMHS consultants, operational staff, and care hub managers.
  11. Participate in audit and quality assurance programs to maintain high service standards.

Our client is willing to issue Certificates of Sponsorship to suitably qualified overseas doctors. GMC registration and relevant experience are essential.
