A leading healthcare provider in the UK seeks a competent professional for skin cancer surgery and teaching roles. The successful candidate will perform sentinel lymph node biopsy surgery, manage trauma, and develop research while participating in a multidisciplinary team. This role includes teaching medical staff and contributing to clinical governance. The position demands versatility in plastic surgery trauma and offers involvement in significant clinical duties and educational contributions.
Appointee is expected to be competent to offer our patients sentinel lymph node biopsy surgery, and nodal block dissections of the axilla, and groin. Successful candidate is expected to be versatile in all aspects of plastic surgery trauma requiring input during on call. New appointee will work closely with colleagues from Dermatology, Oncology and Radiotherapy departments and be part of a truly multidisciplinary skin cancer service. The post attracts a 1:12 on-call commitment alongside a 1:12 Trauma Consultant of the week rota. Part of this job will incorporate clinical duties at the Royal Surrey County Hospital (one day a week) aiming to facilitate network pathway for skin cancer patients and offer general plastic surgery support.
The appointee is expected to develop and undertake research in the field of skin cancer surgery, undertake teaching duties of undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff as well as allied health professionals. Participation in audit and research and Trust clinical governance programme will be essential.
