Job Overview

The Consultant Paramedic in Urgent and Emergency Care will provide professional leadership to ensure the highest standards of care are delivered through expertise, effective clinical leadership and role modelling. Aligned to the national Consultant Practitioner Capabilities Framework, the post holder will possess highly developed capabilities at consultant practice level to influence policy and the clinical agenda, inform practice through research, provide expert clinical input into educational programmes and deliver both traditional and innovative teaching for the Trust's clinicians. Maintaining professional competence through regular clinical practice (0.2 WTE), they will use their expertise to provide consultancy on relevant matters to a range of stakeholders, while providing emergency care leadership and expertise for the whole organization. They will also provide visible clinical leadership and ensure excellent governance to all aspects of emergency care. The post holder will line‑manage the clinical audit team and will be expected to deputise for the Chief Paramedic when required.

Responsibilities

As a senior manager within South Central Ambulance Service you will be required to provide visible and effective leadership to your team and beyond to ensure the effective provision of the service they provide and to champion change in the organisation. You will ensure that your team are motivated and express a positive attitude towards the organisation. You will address any issues and concerns that may inhibit your team from achieving both their personal and organisational goals.

Corporate Induction
  • Corporate Induction in person, this is held over one and half days from our educational centres based in: Newbury (Berkshire), Bicester (Oxfordshire) or Whiteley (Hampshire). More specific details will be sent to you once your start date has been confirmed.
