We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to join the team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, based at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital. This post offers the opportunity to contribute to a supportive and forward‑looking department delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care.

We particularly welcome applicants with skills and experience in colposcopy who are keen to contribute to the ongoing development of gynaecology services within the Trust.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Participate in the delivery of general obstetric services, including:
    • Labour ward sessions
    • Antenatal and postnatal care
  • Contribute to general gynaecology services, with a particular emphasis on:
    • Colposcopy clinics and service development (where appropriately trained)
    • General gynaecology and urgent suspected cancer clinics
  • Participate in the consultant on‑call rota: The department is actively working towards implementing a 1:12 rota, and this post will directly support achievement of this aim
  • Contribute to service recovery, transformation, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Participate in teaching and supervision of trainees, medical students, and multidisciplinary colleagues
  • Engage in audit, research (where applicable), and clinical governance activities
