Job summary

A major healthcare provider in London is inviting applications for a position in general paediatrics with a neonatal interest. The post holder will be part of a team covering the Emergency Department and providing support to the neonatal service. Responsibilities include attending outpatient clinics, managing shifts in the Emergency Department, and participating in neonatal on-call weeks. Ideal candidates will have level 2/3 neonatal experience and an interest in paediatric subspecialties. Flexible working arrangements are offered.

Overview

We invite applications for posts in general paediatrics with a neonatal interest. Post holders will be part of the daytime general paediatric team, covering the Emergency Department and ambulatory service, and will support our neonatal service.

Responsibilities
  • Attend general paediatric outpatient clinics and paediatric subspecialty clinics.
  • Provide daytime paediatric cover in the Paediatric Emergency Department, ambulatory shifts and general paediatric service.
  • Attend neonatal on‑call weeks on the level 1 neonatal unit and join a 1:8 neonatal consultant on‑call‑from‑home rota.
  • Cover out of hours with twilight shifts to 10 pm and 1:8 on‑call‑from‑home for the neonatal unit.
Qualifications
  • Level 2/3 neonatal experience and confidence in managing neonatal emergencies.
  • General paediatric clinical experience and interest in subspecialty clinics.

  • PA tariff for outpatient clinics (e.g., 1.25 PA per clinic) and 10 PA post equivalent to a 42‑week year.
  • Full‑time 10 PA post comprising 8 DCC and 2 SPA (pro‑rata for LTFT).
