Salary: 180 - 210 per day (DOE)
Contract: Full-Time Term Time Only Long-Term to Permanent

About the Role

Long Term Futures are looking to appoint a dedicated Construction Tutor to join a specialist Alternative Provision in Nottingham, supporting young people aged 13-16 (KS3 and KS4) who are disengaged from mainstream education.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong construction background who enjoys hands‑on, workshop‑based learning and wants to make a genuine impact on students' futures. You'll help learners develop skills, confidence and employability through tailored vocational teaching.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, practical lessons in construction for students in KS3-KS4.
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet the individual needs of students with SEMH or behavioural challenges.
  • Support students in developing teamwork, problem‑solving and workplace readiness.
  • Work closely with behaviour mentors and pastoral staff to maintain positive student relationships.
  • Track learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
About You
  • Previous experience teaching, instructing or mentoring young people.
  • Industry based knowledge or experience.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by learners with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Patient, resilient, and passionate about re‑engagement with learning.
  • A teaching qualification such as QTS, QTLS, or Level 3 Award in Education & Training is desirable.
