About Us
Berks Construction Group is a General Contractor focusing on Retail, Big Box Retail, Restaurants, Medical Offices, Fitness, Health and Wellness, Dental, Urgent Care Facilities, etc. We perform fit-outs/retrofits and ground-up construction. The ideal candidate is energetic, entrepreneurial, and eager to work with a high-performance team. A positive attitude, integrity, excellence, and a strong work ethic are essential.
Qualifications
Experience:
- 10+ years’ experience in Commercial Project Management of Ground Up and Fit-out projects.
- Ability to quickly read and understand blueprints/plans.
- Very strong computer and software skills; fluent in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Procore is a plus (training provided).
- Fluent in Microsoft Excel is essential.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining budget, schedule, quality, and safety in accordance with company processes, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to work with a high volume of work within tight deadlines and thrive under pressure.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; attention to detail; ability to meet deadlines; excellent written and verbal communication.
- Extensive experience maintaining project budgets and schedules; ability to communicate RFIs effectively and manage an RFI log and report delays, change orders, and project delays.
- Ability to create and send submittals for approval, manage a Submittal log, and report any delays in approval or denials.
- Ability to manage the purchase log to ensure timely arrival of materials and equipment; coordinate with procurement for proper project costing.
- Submit and manage client and subcontractor change orders; assess validity and reasonableness of costs.
Responsibilities
- Chair all project meetings.
- Manage 3–4 projects at a time with supervisors on each project.
- Meet or exceed project objectives as defined in pre-job planning.
- Weekly reporting on RFIs/Log, Submittals/Log, Sub-Client Change Orders/Log, and related project documentation.
- Maintain and manage shop drawings, maintenance manuals, as-built drawings, punch lists, and related records.
- Guide jobs and teams through pre-construction, construction, closeout, and post-construction services.
- Oversee strategy, risk assessment, profitability, and communicate this view throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify critical constructability issues and ensure timely completion of financial processes, budgets, costs to complete, billings, and payments.
- Ensure projects meet schedule and profitability goals; oversee change orders for owner approval and fairness.
- Assist with new project transitions and pre-job planning.
- Provide accurate percent complete status to accounting monthly.
- Conduct cost vs. budget analyses and perform site visits weekly to ensure quality.
- Oversee project security and safety; prepare AIA billing requisitions.
- Review purchase orders, delivery tickets, subcontractor requisitions, and invoices for correct coding.
- Coordinate with Purchasing the requisition of materials and proper invoice coding.
