Job summary

A leading recruitment firm is seeking a skilled Procurement Manager to join a growing construction and utilities client in Leicester Forest East. The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement related to concrete, utilities, and street works, along with strong negotiation and risk management skills. This role offers 1-2 days hybrid working after a probation period. The successful individual will manage supplier relationships, control costs, and ensure timely delivery of materials. Interviews are commencing immediately for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Procurement/commercial experience in concrete, utilities, street works, and plant machinery.
• Experienced in all the listed responsibilities.
• Working within a group experience would be ideal.

Responsibilities

• Identify, vet, and manage suppliers.
• Control costs and implement saving initiatives.
• Maintain supplier relationships and negotiate terms.
• Manage operational procurement and ensure timely materials delivery.
• Oversee contract management and compliance.
• Integrate cross-functionally with teams.

Skills

Strong negotiation skills with suppliers and customers

Experienced in cost saving initiatives

Risk management experience

Strong user of differing systems and software

Tenders, Bids and PSL experience

Education

CIPS qualified or working towards it
