The Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Crane Fitter to join our dynamic team. As a vital member of our maintenance department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our fleet of cranes operates at peak performance and adheres to the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular maintenance, inspections, and repairs on various types of cranes, including mobile, tower, and crawler cranes.
  • Diagnose faults and implement corrective measures.
  • Perform routine checks and scheduled maintenance to prevent breakdown and ensure longevity of equipment.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to coordinate maintenance schedules and minimise downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Keep accurate records of work carried out and parts utilised.
  • Provide technical support and advice to the team and clients when necessary.
  • Participate in continuous training and development to keep up with industry standards and technological advancements.
Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications such as an NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent (HGV Maintenance, Agricultural Maintenance)
  • Proven experience as a Crane Fitter, Plant Mechanic, or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with health and safety standards and a commitment to applying safety practices at all times.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A valid UK driving licence.
Desirable
  • CPCS Card Holder or equivalent.
  • Experience with specific brands and models of cranes in our fleet.
  • Welding and fabrication skills.
  • Experience directly as a Plant Fitter either in the hire industry or within the Plant Department of a construction company is preferred.
