Overview

We are currently seeking a Construction Manager to join our Lift Modernisation team, supporting exciting projects across the North East and Yorkshire.

Responsibilities

As a Construction Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the scope, schedule, and budget of lift repair and modernisation projects. You will act as the primary KONE interface for customers and stakeholders, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and project profitability.

  • Manage projects from sales to completion at handover to customer and maintenance
  • Responsible for successful project start-up, project reviews, project reporting and documentation
  • Oversee site preparations and readiness, storage and logistics, and needed resources and tools
  • Ensure compliance with KONE methods and conduct thorough risk assessments
  • Lead and manage the team of engineers, including subcontractors, plan and ensure sufficient project resourcing and competences and team motivation
  • Maintain proactive communication with customers and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
  • Driving collaboration with all stakeholders, including project co-ordinators, project support, customers, other business lines, engineers and subcontractors.
  • Promote and enforce safety and security awareness among employees and subcontractors , ensuring adherence to KONE and customer safety and security policies
Skills and experience
  • Proven leadership and people management skills
  • Strong customer and subcontractor relationship management
  • Excellent planning and organising skills
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Excellent health and safety knowledge
  • Full UK driving licence
  • CSCS card, SMSTS, or SSSTS certifications are advantageous, but not mandatory
  • Experience in lift projects is advantageous but not essential – applications are welcome from candidates with engineering or construction backgrounds
