This is an excellent role for a junior construction disputes lawyer looking to develop their career within one of the UK's most respected contentious construction practices. The team advises on a wide range of UK and international construction and engineering disputes, acting for high‑profile private and public sector clients including developers, contractors, consultants, central and local government, and housing providers.

As part of a large, well‑established national practice, you'll enjoy a breadth of work that includes adjudication, mediation, litigation, and dispute avoidance. You'll also have the opportunity to collaborate closely with colleagues across other UK offices and practice areas, offering both variety and exposure to major projects.

The firm's continued growth in this area has created the need for ambitious, technically capable associates to join the team and contribute to its success. You'll be supported by a strong development framework designed to help you progress quickly and build a long‑term career in contentious construction law.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advising clients on construction and engineering disputes, including adjudication, mediation, and litigation.
  • Providing strategic advice on contractual interpretation, risk management, and dispute avoidance.
  • Handling professional negligence claims and complex construction‑related issues.
  • Working across major contract forms including JCT, NEC, FIDIC, ICE, PPC, GC Works, and PFI.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships across both private and public sector organisations.
  • Collaborating with colleagues nationally and contributing to internal training and business development initiatives.
  • Managing matters in compliance with Lexcel standards and ensuring the delivery of excellent client service.
About You:
  • You’ll be a qualified solicitor (NQ‑2 PQE) with experience in contentious construction gained at a reputable firm.
  • A solid understanding of UK construction law and familiarity with major standard form contracts (JCT, NEC, FIDIC).
  • Experience or a strong interest in adjudication and construction arbitration.
  • A proactive approach to client work, with excellent technical and organisational skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and enthusiasm for business development.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a high‑performing, supportive team.

This role is ideal for a junior solicitor seeking exposure to complex, high‑value disputes and a clear pathway for career development within a firm that invests in its people.

This international law firm is known for its collegiate culture, inclusive working environment, and commitment to ESG and sustainability principles. With offices across the UK, Middle East, and Asia, the firm offers lawyers the platform to engage in significant, cross‑border matters while enjoying a genuinely supportive and progressive culture.

The firm actively promotes equity, diversity, and inclusion, and welcomes applications from candidates of all backgrounds.

What's on Offer:
  • High‑quality, City‑level work with national and international clients.
  • Structured career development and mentoring.
  • A supportive, collaborative environment that values individuality and initiative.
  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

If you're a contentious construction lawyer seeking a career‑building opportunity with a top‑tier firm, we'd love to hear from you.
