This is a career-defining opportunity for a skilled litigator to work on high-profile, high-value disputes for major developers, contractors, consultants and public sector bodies.

The Opportunity:

Construction law is at the heart of the firm's offering, with a national contentious construction team of over 25 lawyers recognised for their expertise across the full range of disputes. Acting for both private and public sector clients, the team advises on domestic and, increasingly, international matters.

You will be involved in a wide variety of disputes and advisory work, covering major UK construction projects and engaging with some of the largest players in the market. The firm's client base includes central and local government, social housing providers, major contractors, developers and consultants.

The role offers the chance to:

  • Lead complex dispute resolution matters from inception to conclusion.
  • Advise on some of the most prominent standard form contracts in the UK, including JCT, NEC, FIDIC, ICE, PPC and GC Works.
  • Develop specialist knowledge of emerging areas such as the Building Safety Act and its impact on the sector.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across offices and practice areas, particularly Real Estate and Public Sector teams, to deliver seamless client service.
Key Responsibilities
  • Litigation, arbitration (domestic and international) and adjudication.
  • Alternative dispute resolution such as mediation.
  • Dispute avoidance and risk management advice.
  • Professional negligence claims.
  • Contractual interpretation and strategic guidance.
  • Advising on high-value defect disputes.
  • Acting on behalf of prominent developers and contractors across sectors.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Playing an active role in business development and profile-raising initiatives.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior team members.
  • Ensuring compliance with Lexcel and firm-wide quality standards.
Candidate Requirements
  • Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with 5+ years' PQE in contentious construction.
  • Strong experience across all forms of dispute resolution, including litigation, arbitration and adjudication.
  • Familiarity with JCT, NEC and FIDIC standard form contracts.
  • Proven track record in managing complex, high-value disputes.
  • Commercially astute with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent client care and relationship management abilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to business development and team leadership.
Why This Firm
  • A steady pipeline of high-profile and complex instructions.
  • Opportunities to handle both UK-based and international disputes.
  • A clear career development framework with scope for progression.
  • A collaborative, supportive environment that values diversity, inclusion and sustainability.
