A leading aerospace company in the UK is seeking a Configuration Management specialist to support data management and maintain compliance. The ideal candidate will have advanced skills in software tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as experience in Configuration Management or Technical Data Management. This role will appeal to people who enjoy the combined elements of digging down into the nitty gritty of data (we’re talking formatting, cross checking and going through pages of data) and then rolling up your sleeves and talking through, step by step, why something needs changing, or talking with the user until you see the light‑bulb of understanding.
Advanced Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills required, specifically tables, formatting, cross referencing, merging, editing and templates. This is not your usual I can bold, italicise and underline type role.
This role comes with several career paths: Audit, Documentation management and Config management
Uphold, communicate and facilitate understanding of the Configuration Management (CM) guidelines and tools. This includes working with your team and supporting users on a daily basis
Champion the Configuration Management policies and by reaching out, informing, questioning and ensuring consistency across the business unit.
Record, control, maintain and monitor data and documents in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
Utilise your advanced Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook skills to edit document formats, tables, templates and figures to meet data control standards.
Learn and appreciate the importance of the tools, policies and procedures
Previous experience in ONE of the following: Configuration Management (CM), Technical Data management, Librarianship / Document Management ?
Interested in bringing new ideas to improve current policies and procedures
Passionate about assisting users and adjusting communication styles for different users
Looking for a role where “crossing the T’s and dotting the I’s” is important. Where finding solutions might mean an internet search or reaching out to a colleague.
Advanced user of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Outlook
Previous experience of file / data management tools (MS Office, PDF editor, FTP, Nero, etc.).
Previous experience of Product Lifecycle Management tools (Windchill, Teamcenter, Aras Minerva, etc.)
