At Close Brothers we look to recruit individuals from all different backgrounds and encourage you to apply even if you don’t tick every box. We celebrate diversity, promote inclusivity and are open to discuss flexible work options to help you balance your work and home life.

Join Close Brothers’ Chief Controls Office and make a real impact within our Savings business unit. As a Conduct & Control Analyst, you’ll support the Savings team to manage risks and controls effectively, embedding the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF), and ensuring compliance with bank standards, policies, and regulations.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career in a collaborative, high‑performing environment, where your work will contribute to good outcomes for our customers and the ongoing success of our business.

In this role, you’ll help management make risk‑aware decisions, ensure transparent reporting, and support a strong risk and control culture. You’ll work with colleagues to evidence compliance, assist with regulatory initiatives, and drive ongoing improvements in our control environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support business owners in adhering to the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF), group policies, and standards, maintaining evidence of compliance.
  • Assist with the design, implementation, and testing of controls within operating processes, including automated controls.
  • Perform risk and control assessments (RCAs), identifying key risks, controls, and control gaps.
  • Maintain documentation and audit trails for assessments and decisions.
  • Support the raising and quality assurance of risk events and issues, escalating where appropriate.
  • Interpret management information (MI) and report risks to governance meetings.
  • Collaborate with risk and assurance colleagues to support integrated testing and reviews.
  • Contribute to the production of committee and forum packs, and take minutes at risk meetings.
  • Support the delivery of regulatory initiatives and the implementation of regulatory changes.
  • Develop a strong understanding of business products to ensure compliance and good customer outcomes.
  • Assist with training and capability building on process mapping and control assessment methodologies.
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE:
  • Experience producing quality management information (MI).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Attention to detail and a structured approach to work.
  • Ability to plan and organise your own workload.
  • Ability to handle difficult conversations and provide constructive feedback.
  • Analytical skills to critically assess information and produce logical outcomes.
  • Ability to challenge behaviours and drive process improvements.
IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE/ARE:
  • Experience in risk management, particularly in operational or financial services contexts.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and risk management frameworks.
  • Any risk or compliance qualifications or certificates.
