We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Speke, supporting pupils with complex, profound, and multiple learning needs. This role is ideal for someone passionate about inclusive education and supporting vulnerable learners to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consistent one-to-one and small group support for pupils with complex needs, including ASD, PMLD, SLD, physical disabilities, and medical conditions
  • Support pupils with personal care, mobility, feeding, and toileting where required, ensuring dignity and respect at all times
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering highly differentiated, accessible, and engaging learning activities
  • Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs), care plans, and therapy programmes under professional guidance
  • Support communication using visual aids, PECS, Makaton, AAC, or other specialist strategies
  • Promote emotional regulation, independence, and social development
  • Assist with sensory integration activities and use of specialist equipment
  • Monitor pupil progress and behaviour, providing detailed feedback to teaching and SEN staff
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, SENCOs, and external professionals
  • Maintain a calm, safe, and structured learning environment
  • Adhere strictly to safeguarding, child protection, health and safety, and infection control policies
