Job description
We are recruiting an experienced and reliable Complex Care Healthcare Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a mobile and independent 19-year-old female client with tracheostomy and PEG needs. This role includes supporting the client in the community and attending college, with transport provided by the family.
Client & Clinical Needs
  • Tracheostomy care
  • PEG feeding and nutritional support
  • Vital signs monitoring
  • Medication administration
Equipment in use
  • Tracheostomy tube
  • Suction catheter
  • Velcro ties & tracheostomy holder
  • Round-ended scissors
Key Responsibilities
  • Tracheostomy care and monitoring
  • PEG feeding and management
  • Medication administration
  • Moving and handling as required
  • Monitoring early warning signs and escalating concerns
  • Supporting communication and independence
  • 1:1 support at college, including:
    • Collecting the client from home
    • Accompanying her to college
    • Supporting her during college hours
    • Returning her home after college

Please note: the client travels to college in a car provided by the family.

Essential Requirements
  • Proven experience in tracheostomy care
  • Experience with PEG feeding
  • Confident with medication administration
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
  • Professional, supportive, and person-centred approach
