Overview

A leading US law firm is seeking a Competition Counsel with 6-8 years' PQE to join its highly regarded London team. The practice works with a prestigious client base of financial institutions and multinational corporates across sectors such as technology, private equity, financial services, digital markets, and energy. In this senior role, you will advise on complex transactional antitrust matters, including M&A and restructurings, and manage UK/EU merger control and foreign investment processes. You will work directly with partners, take on substantial client-facing responsibilities, and contribute to the continued development of the team. Responsibilities
  • Advise on complex transactional antitrust matters, including M&A and restructurings.
  • Manage UK/EU merger control and foreign investment processes.
  • Work directly with partners and assume substantial client-facing responsibilities.
  • Contribute to the continued development of the competition/antitrust team.
Qualifications
  • 6-8 years' PQE, solicitor qualified in England & Wales.
  • Significant non-contentious competition/antitrust experience at a leading international law firm.
  • Strong background in transactional antitrust, particularly M&A and restructurings.
  • Proven expertise in UK/EU merger control and foreign investment matters, including multi-jurisdictional filings.
  • Excellent academic record; postgraduate competition/antitrust studies are an advantage.
  • Commercially focused, proactive, and confident in handling client relationships.
  • Foreign language skills and experience with EU FSR are beneficial but not essential.
