OEG is hiring a Competent Statutory Inspector based offshore in the United Kingdom. The role involves assisting the Team Lead in planning, mobilising, execution, and demobilising of statutory inspection work scopes.

Responsible for the safe implementation of OEG Renewables policies and procedures on various offshore wind projects predominantly within the UK and Europe.

Assisting the Team Lead in planning, mobilising, execution, and demobilising of statutory inspection work scopes.

Maintaining personal performance in line with industry, client, project, and company requirements.

Aiding in the design and implementation of engineering solutions for statutory inspection projects.

Use of company software to monitor and track company/client assets deployed on project and create reports of thorough examination.

Working in small teams of 2-5 to deliver statutory inspections to on and offshore client assets.

This role is primarily offshore based or living on shore with daily transit offshore.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

Keeping up to date with any new or amended processes, procedures and regulatory changes that impact the role and learn information about new products, whilst always following instructions from the company.

Ensure all internal communications are read, understood, adhered to, and acknowledged. Clarity must be sought where needed to aid understanding, and all instructions contained therein must always be followed.

Attend meetings as directed by your manager including one to ones, performance reviews and training/coaching etc.

Responsible for security of client and company data as provided and used in the role.

Responsible for security of company property as provided and used in the role.

Support department initiatives to help achieve departmental annual targets and objectives.

Inspection:

Conducting thorough examinations in line with local legislation such as LOLER and PUWER.

Fire Extinguisher Inspection.

TMSE Inspections.

PFPE Inspections.

Loose Lifting Equipment Inspections.

Inspection of Hydraulic systems (PRV’s and accumulators).

Inspection and Load Testing of WTG nacelle cranes (hoists and hydraulic cranes such as HIAB).

Inspection and Load Testing of Davit Cranes using water weights.

Inspection and Load Testing of man riding lifts.

Quality Control:

Daily checking of project reports to ensure the correct certification has been created and reports have been completed correctly.

Logging of all process nonconformities in MY compliance.

Take an active role in the continual improvement of OEG Renewables quality system and standards.

Creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) covering the tasks of this role where required.

LOLER/PUWER inspections on company equipment.

Responsible for pre and post project equipment inspections noting any deficiencies and damages using obtained data to conduct root cause analysis where applicable.

QHSE responsibilities

To have a general understanding of the areas of our QHSE Management System and OEG’s QHSE aims and objectives that are relevant to the role.

Comply with the requirements of OEG Energy Group Policies and the responsibilities within the wider QHSE Management System.

Skills and experiences

5 years’ experience in similar role.

Statutory Inspection experience.

Relevant vocational training such as an apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical disciplines.

Davit Crane Inspection Maintenance and Load Testing with waterbag on models such as Palfinger, Seasight, Noreq Acta and Granada.

Nacelle Crane Inspection and Maintenance on models such as Demag DS10, HIAB V2/V4, HMF & Palfinger PCWM3300. WTG Service Lift Inspection and Maintenance on models such as Avanti X & XL, Skyman TH250 and Goracon.

Proficient in IT including Microsoft Office and reporting software’s.

Responsible and accountable.

Ability to prioritise and organise tasks.

Good understanding of LOLER/PUWER/PSSR and Fire Safety Regulations.

Good understanding of calibration and calibration requirements.

Good understanding of COSHH regulations.

Relevant crane/service lift training certifications and/or demonstrable experience.

Maintenance and troubleshooting background (highly desirable).
