Overview

We are seeking a qualified mental health nurse to work in the South West Kent Mental Health Together team. If you are interested in older adults as well as working with adults, and keen to develop your expertise in initial assessments and therapeutic interventions, this is the role for you. The service is based in Tunbridge Wells, with potential travel between sites and home visits as part of the role. Applicants should hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car/vehicle for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

Responsibilities
  • Deliver assessments in a combined clinic setting, during home visits, and in care homes where appropriate.
  • Act as a role model and support new team members through demonstration and explanation of tasks and techniques.
  • Facilitate, support and assess staff undergoing personal and/or professional development.
  • Undertake and maintain all essential training to the role.
  • Record and document interventions delivered in a timely manner in line with professional and local standards using KMMHT systems.
  • Coordinate and make recommendations to the care plan process.
  • Act as Practice Assessor.
  • Assess, act on and report safeguarding concerns and be aware of MCA and DoLs.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Must have completed and signed off their preceptorship.
  • Hold a full, valid UK driving licence and have access to a car/vehicle for business use (unless exempt by the Equality Act 2010).
  • Adhere to NMC registration and revalidation requirements and uphold the NMC Code of Conduct.
  • Support and implement current and future Nursing Strategy and promote KMMHT’s values, policies and procedures.
  • Experience in working with both older adults and working-age adults is desirable.
