Job description

A vacancy has arisen for an enthusiastic, dynamic, and committed qualified mental health nurse to work in the Northumberland Psychiatric liaison team for older adults.

We are based at Wansbeck hospital in Ashington, Northumbria specialist emergency care hospital in Cramlington and various other sites within the footfall of Northumberland.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, and confident individual to join our established team who provide mental health assessments, liaison interventions and informal/formal education to the acute general hospital staff.

Main duties of the job
  • The successful candidate will be based at Wansbeck hospital but will be expected to travel to all the community hospitals within the acute hospital footfall and includes NSECH and community hospitals within Northumberland.
  • Liaison psychiatry provide mental health assessments including risk assessments and safety planning following a referral from the emergency department or wards/departments throughout Northumbria healthcare inpatient services.
MDT working within our team and alongside the acute trust

Ongoing liaison intervention's with patients, carers, family and other health and social care staff.
