A community health service provider seeks a dedicated Community Phlebotomist to perform phlebotomy duties and advise patients undergoing blood tests. The role involves maintaining patient confidentiality and contributing to service development. Successful candidates will need phlebotomy experience and a driving license, along with strong communication and IT skills. Working hours are 29 per week from Monday to Friday, plus every other Saturday. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive team and make a difference in patient care.
As a community Phlebotomist you’ll be expected to perform phlebotomy duties as directed by the GP and other Community Services, be able to give appropriate advice to patients undergoing blood tests and maintain clear, contemporaneous records. At all times you'll care for the patients and their families in the way that you believe is best, delivering our high service standards, sharing best practice, and actively improving the way we work.
You will be expected to have previous experience in phlebotomy and have completed a structured theoretical and practical assessment on venipuncture. You will need to have the ability to travel across a wide geographical area, therefore applicants must be a car driver/owner. You'll also have strong communication and organisation skills, and a flexible approach which will ensure you deliver positive experiences to patients at every stage of their healthcare journey.
This role is for 29 hours a week working Monday‑Friday in the community and every other Saturday in the Gravesham Community Hospital Outpatient Clinic (9am‑1pm).
As this role is a community role you will require a driving licence and access to a car for work purposes.

You will have good experience of working in healthcare as a Phlebotomist.
You will also need to be confident using IT systems and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel.
