Job description
Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist within Havering Intermediate Care team. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a community-based, fully integrated service with district nurses, physiotherapists, nurses and community matrons to ensure an integrated and holistic approach to the care of people accessing our service.

You will have the opportunity to work alongside and attend training with nursing and therapy colleagues within a large multi-disciplinary team, delivering valued, challenging and rewarding work within the team.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out clinical visits to patients in their own homes and care homes, delivering occupational therapy interventions.
  • Be flexible, work well in a team, manage pressure, and communicate effectively with patients, carers and other members of the MDT.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Occupational Therapist registered at Band 6 level.
  • Car driver with full UK license and access to a car (essential).
  • Excellent interpersonal and IT skills; ability to communicate effectively with patients, carers and MDT members.

You will be supported with continuing professional development and training opportunities within a large multi-disciplinary team.

Contractual Details
  • Probationary period applies.
  • Starting with NELFT: new starters join on the first Monday of each month and undergo a comprehensive induction (up to two weeks), including mandatory and systems training and equipment allocation.
  • Induction is held at the head office in Rainham, Essex.
  • High-Cost Area Supplement – Outer London: 15% of basic salary, with a range of £4,714 to £5,941.
