Job description
Band 5 Registered Mental Health Nurse

We are looking for a compassionate and motivated nurse to join the Queens Park and Paddington Community Mental Health Hub in Westminster.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver recovery‑focused, person‑centred care in collaboration with service users, their families and carers.
  • Provide information and psycho‑education on mental health conditions and medication.
  • Uphold legal frameworks that underpin service delivery.
  • Assess risks, manage risk and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Signpost or refer to external services when required.
  • Maintain good working relationships with neighbouring teams to enable effective co‑working and responsive transfer of care.
  • Act as duty officer on a rota basis, supporting timely responses to service users, carers and professionals.
  • Support the administration and monitoring of medication.
  • Attend triage, duty days and therapy hub meetings, contributing to brief assessments, risk identification and signposting referrals.

  • Hold a defined caseload, providing ongoing support, reviews and interventions under supervision.
  • Contribute to service quality and improvement activity, including supporting audits, data collection and KPI work.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues and partner services, and engage in regular supervision, reflective practice and training.
Training and Development

As a Band 5 nurse, you will receive a robust induction, regular supervision and role‑appropriate training, including psychosocial interventions, physical health skills such as venepuncture and ECGs, and opportunities to build confidence in community mental health nursing.
