A local government council in the United Kingdom seeks a Community Engagement and Events Officer to enhance communication and marketing efforts in the community. An exciting opportunity to join a proactive and creative Communities Team. This role is ideal for someone with strong communications and marketing skills who wants to make a real difference in the local community.
You will play a key role in shaping how Stowmarket Town Council communicates and engages with residents coordinating digital marketing and content creation supporting PR activity and developing engaging social media campaigns. You will also lead on marketing and promotional activity for The Regal helping to boost engagement awareness and business growth.
While the focus is on communications and marketing you will also support the delivery of community events and our historic twice-weekly market helping to bring people together and celebrate what makes Stowmarket unique.
We are looking for someone who enjoys creating compelling content engaging with people and building positive relationships with community groups businesses and local partners. You will contribute directly to improving resident involvement raising awareness of council activity and ensuring that local voices are represented.
It is essential that the Community Engagement and Events Officer has excellent communication planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Experience with digital content creation social media scheduling and campaign coordination would be a clear advantage along with confidence in supporting public-facing events and working with a wide range of stakeholders.
