LeedsCommunity Healthcare (LCH) is excited to expand our Home Enteral Feeding (HEF)service. We are recruiting fortwo full-time (1.0 WTE / 37.5 hrs)permanent Band 6 Specialist Learning Disabilities Enteral Feeding Dietitians.We welcome applications from those seeking full-time hours, orpart-time/job-share arrangements.

Thesespecialist roles are based within our friendly, multidisciplinary team atParkside Community Health Centre. You will focus on providing high-quality,person-centred nutritional care to adults with learning disabilities whorequire enteral nutrition. Our team embraces hybrid working and maintainsstrong links with the wider LCH Adult and Childrens dietetic services,offering excellent networking and clinical supervision opportunities. We arecommitted to safe, effective care and professional development within thisrewarding specialty.

Main duties of the job

You will manage a dedicated caseload of adultspredominantly with learning disabilities (LD) and some non LD, requiring homeenteral feeding. This role requires a compassionate, adaptable approach to meetthe complex needs of patients with diverse physical and cognitive requirements.You will conduct assessments and reviews in various settings, including family homes,supported living, and care homes, or via remote consultation.

Key aspects of the role:

  • Specialist LD Care:Tailoringnutritional plans to support patients with complex communication needs, sensoryprocessing differences, and physical disabilities.
  • Dietetic CaseloadManagement:Troubleshooting patient/carer queries via telephone, triagingurgency, and prioritising a specialist workload.
  • Collaborative Working:Close liaisonwith LD multidisciplinary teams, social care providers, and the contracted feedcompany.
  • Prescribing Authority:Utilizing the'Off FP10' approach, giving you direct rights for managing enteral feeds andequipment.
  • Clinical Governance:Contributing to thedevelopment of LD-specific enteral feeding protocols and pathways.
  • Leadership& Education:Providing supervision to assisting staff, peer support,and student training, alongside delivering education to carers and healthprofessionals on LD-specific nutritional needs.
