Community Care & Welfare Solicitor / Legal Executive (4–8 PQE)

The Role

Reporting directly to the Partner and Head of Team, you will manage a complex caseload of privately fee‑paying matters and play a key role in the supervision and development of junior fee earners.

The team is ranked in Chambers and Legal 500 and is a founding member of the Professional Deputies Forum, with a national reputation for delivering bespoke legal solutions for vulnerable children and adults.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing a diverse caseload of Community Care and Court of Protection (Health & Welfare) matters
  • Advising Court of Protection Deputies, clients and professionals including case managers
  • Drafting and reviewing complex legal documentation and correspondence
  • Providing advocacy at assessments, appeals, court and tribunal hearings
  • Supervising and mentoring junior fee earners and support staff
  • Supporting business development, marketing initiatives and team growth
  • Maintaining the highest standards of quality, compliance and client care

Depending on experience, there is also scope to undertake Special Educational Needs (SEN) work.

Experience
Essential
  • Strong experience in Community Care / Public Law and / or Court of Protection matters
  • Exposure to Property & Affairs and Health & Welfare issues
  • Ability to independently manage a complex, privately funded caseload
  • Excellent advocacy, negotiation and communication skills
  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior colleagues
  • High level of organisation and client care
Desirable
  • Wider experience in Court of Protection Property & Affairs and / or SEN law
  • Involvement in business development, training or marketing activities
