Job summary

A local healthcare provider in Northern Ireland is seeking a compassionate individual for a personal care assistant role. You will provide support and personal care to service users in their own homes, helping with daily activities and promoting well-being. Candidates should have access to a car and experience in a caring environment is preferred. This position offers additional benefits including a company pension and travel allowance.

Job description

We are looking for a caring and compassionate person to provide personal care and assistance to service users in their own homes in accordance with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council Standards of Conduct and Practice 2015.

Responsibilities
  • To provide personal care and assistance in accordance with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council Standards of Conduct and Practice 2015
  • Helping with bathing, showering, and personal hygiene
  • Assisting with dressing and undressing
  • Supporting with toileting and continence care
  • Hair, nail, and oral care
  • Domestic tasks
  • Meal preparation, cooking, and planning
  • Light housekeeping, dusting, vacuuming, and laundry
  • Health & medication support
  • Prompting and assisting with taking medication
  • Assisting with mobility and safe use of mobility aids
  • Observing and reporting any changes in health or behaviour to relevant parties
  • Providing companionship, listening, and engaging in conversations
  • Encouraging participation in hobbies and activities
  • Reducing feelings of isolation and promoting well-being
Skills and Qualifications
  • Must be a compassionate and caring person with access to a car for business purposes.
  • Experience in a caring environement and or a health and social care qualification is preferred but not essential
