We're looking for confident, passionate people to support pupils in specialist hearing units based in mainstream primary schools across South Manchester.

Role: Communication Support Worker (BSL Level 2/3) - Hearing Impairment Unit (Primary)
Location: South Manchester (mainstream primary school)
Start: September 2025

From Week 13: Get paid to the same rate as permanent staff in same role.
Getting There: Good public transport links + on-site parking.

Step Perks: 24/7 GP access, discounts on retail, gyms & cinemas, and more

What You'll Be Doing:
- Supporting primary-aged pupils with hearing loss in small, inclusive classroom unit.
- Using BSL (British Sign Language) to help kids feel heard, included, and confident.
- Helping teachers deliver lessons in a way every child can access.
- Promoting independence, curiosity, and positive vibes.
- Working with specialist teams who've got your back - including Teachers of the Deaf, therapists, and SEN professionals.

About the Setting:

These specialist units are small but mighty - spaces where Deaf and hearing-impaired kids get the tailored support they need to thrive in mainstream school. Based in welcoming primary schools across South Manchester, they're part of a wider support network that covers Early Years right up to post-16. You'll be helping kids develop communication skills, confidence, and real independence - in a place that values belonging and positive relationships just as much as academic progress.

You'll Fit Right In If You:
- Hold a Level 2 or 3 BSL qualification (or equivalent).
- Have worked with Deaf or hearing-impaired students (college, school or elsewhere!).
- Know how to adapt support for different ages and communication needs.
- Are friendly, calm, flexible, and great at building trust.
- Want to make a real difference in a child's day - and future.

What You'll Get from Us:
- Great daily rates - paid straight to you via PAYE (no umbrella deductions).
- The chance to try out primary before fully committing.
- Opportunities to grow - long-term roles, CPD, and temp-to-perm pathways.
- A dedicated consultant with 13+ years' experience in SEND placements.
- A workplace that actually values what you do.

What We Need from You:
- A CV with 10-year work history (or as close as possible).
- Proof of Right to Work and UK address.
- An up-to-date DBS (on the Update Service) - or be happy to apply.
- 2 references (1 must be recent and from working with children or young people).
- Your BSL Level 2 or 3 certificate.
