Overview

The shift pattern for this post is Monday-Friday 0800-1600 / 0900 - 1700

About the Role

We have a Commodity Manager post vacant within the Digital Services Procurement team. The post holder will be a member of the Digital Services Procurement team led by the Commercial Team Manager and will contribute to the development of the Digital Services commodity team strategy and be responsible for delivering the overall procurement, health board and NHSS strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and directly manage a team within the Digital Services Commodity team section of the NHS GGC Procurement Department, including associated divisions and directorates, ensuring maximum efficiency of resources, achievement of value for money and risk and liability management.
  • Represent NHS GGC on National Procurement Commodity Advisory Panels, regional workshop events and other initiatives to ensure NHS GGC’s requirements are met for national contracts.
  • Lead all aspects of multi‑million pound cross‑directorate Digital Services contracts covered by their team’s portfolio, including the analysis, selection, award and management of said contracts.
Qualifications
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent and hold a Professional/Postgraduate qualification in Procurement and Supply (e.g. CIPS Professional Diploma Level 6) or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of contract law and public procurement legislation.
  • Excellent management, communication and inter‑personal skills.
