Interim Commissioning & Transformation Programme Manager

Based in London, hybrid

Length: 3 months initially

We are working with a London-based Local Authority to recruit an interim Commissioning & Transformation Programme Manager, a key leadership role within a new Integrated Commissioning & Health Function. This will play a central role in shaping and delivering an integrated commissioning approach that drives improvements for children and families.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and manage the overarching work programme for the new function, ensuring key milestones, governance, and decision-making points are effectively planned and delivered
  • Drive the rollout of a joined-up commissioning approach across the Council and NHS, embedding a collaborative, disciplined, and commercially sound process
  • Spearhead priority initiatives, including improving child and adolescent mental health and building resilience through our amily Mental Healthriendly programme
  • Work with senior leaders across the NHS, local authority, and voluntary sector to align priorities and deliver shared outcomes
  • Promote a systemic, trauma-informed, and anti-racist approach to commissioning and service design for children and young people

Experience and knowledge required:

  • Proven leader in programme delivery – with expertise in strategic project management, planning, reporting, and risk control
  • Demonstrable commissioning experience, ideally in Children’s joint commissioning
  • Strong sector insight – bringing a clear understanding of local authority, NHS, and integrated care systems within the wider public sector
  • Influential and collaborative – able to inspire confidence, manage competing priorities, and work effectively with senior leaders, clinicians, and the wider community
