A leading elderly care provider in the UK is seeking a Commis Chef to assist in preparing high-quality food. This role involves supporting chefs in managing catering services, participating in resident meetings regarding dietary needs, and ensuring high nutritional standards. As a Commis Chef, you will assist the Chef de Partie in preparing food and performing basic cooking tasks. You will rotate through different kitchen areas – vegetables, fish, meat and sauces – on a six‑month programme, supporting all chefs to deliver catering services that meet residents' choice, dignity, confidentiality and safety. You will also take part in meetings with residents and Heads of Departments to discuss catering functions and address residents' special needs, including cultural and religious preferences. Your role is to prepare nutritional food and beverages to a high standard, as directed by the chefs, and to produce special diet meals when required.
