Job description
Position Overview

As the Commis Chef in our restaurants, you'll be at the heart of the action, preparing and organising ingredients, and keeping the kitchen clean. Reporting into the Chef de Partie, you'll be a key member of the team, whose role is integral to the smooth operation and delivery of the Kitchen operations. You'll be responsible for the organisation, stock rotation and labelling of food stored ensuring that all administration for own section is completed and complies with the deadlines set. In this role, you'll guarantee that Food Safety standards are adhered to by enforcing the high standard of hygiene and sanitation in all food-related outlets.

Key Responsibilities

Having knowledge and passion for food and drink is essential, with some time spent within 5 hotel or high end restaurant environment. In return you'll be given all the training and support you'll need to develop your kitchen career at Harrods.

You’ll have great time-management skills and a strong customer focus when dealing with both internal and external parties. You’ll have exceptional interpersonal skills and a good attention to detail, which will be evident through paperwork completed, organisation of department and sufficient stock levels.   • The amount of tronc you receive will vary and is not guaranteed by either Harrods Ltd or the Troncmaster. However, the Troncmaster will always distribute 100% funds available each period according to the Rules, a copy of which will be provided to all members.
  • Competitive salary package of up to £15 p/h (this is made up of a generous base salary plus service charge).
  • Set contracted hours – paid additional working hours at an overtime rate of 1.5 p/h. Minimal late evenings by industry standard – majority finished by 10pm.
