Location: Richmond Village, Aston on Trent, Derby, DE72 2EA

Salary: From £12.60ph Plus £1,000 welcome bonus

Contract: Full Time

Shifts: Predominately 9-5pm with the occasional late night for events & alternate weekends

Starter Bonus: £1,000 paid after four weeks of service, subject to tax and NI. Ts&Cs Apply.

Overview

Richmond Village in Aston on Trent is looking to appoint a new Commis Chef to join their team. This role in a luxury retirement village offers a blend of culinary skill and lifestyle balance. With no late nights or split shifts, you will enjoy a harmonious work‑life rhythm while showcasing your talents across various dining settings, from the intimate care home to the bustling restaurant and club house. This position offers a chance to make a meaningful impact on residents' lives through delicious food, all within a refined and serene environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide catering to residents, visitors and the public across the village, including an 80‑cover d'hôtel restaurant, 40‑cover Bistro/Café bar, 40‑cover Club House Café, and 3 Care Home dining rooms.
  • Prepare and cook food in accordance with food hygiene regulations against a set menu to a consistent high‑quality standard.
  • Deliver front‑of‑house services to customers ensuring consistent standards.
  • Work within the extensive HACCP framework tailored to a Health Care Environment.
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic working area.
  • Respond to residents' and customers' dietary needs and personal preferences.
Key Skills / Qualifications

You are adept at catering for customers with special dietary requirements and have a solid understanding of health and safety procedures, ideally supported by an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent City & Guilds and CIEH certification and demonstrable cooking skills.

You bring an innovative yet organised approach to cooking, always adhering to high standards and remaining calm during a busy service. You enjoy working with others, creating and delivering an excellent dining experience at each meal.

Because we care for vulnerable people, a DBS check is required as part of recruitment (cost covered by Bupa £40).
