Job description

I am currently recruiting for a highly commercial and rewarding public sector business that is looking for a Commercial Procurement Manager.

The Commercial team provides specialist procurement and contract management advice across the business, ensuring compliance with procurement regulations.

You will be responsible for leading a range of procurement activities within the corporate and professional services category. This includes, but is not limited to, vehicle hire, travel and accommodation, venue hire, legal services, HR services, research services, print/postal services, language services, office supplies, office furniture, and health screening/support services.

The role may also require providing support to the IS and digital category team and potentially assuming line management responsibilities.

  • Utilise knowledge of procurement legislation and commercial acumen to procure and manage contracts effectively within the specified categories.
  • Lead or collaborate with stakeholders to determine the best route to market, develop detailed specifications, and create evaluation criteria for various requirements. Draft tender and contract documents with attention to detail and clarity.
  • Address issues proactively by providing solutions, making recommendations, and implementing necessary changes to ensure contracts meet business needs.
  • Analyse management information on contracts to inform ongoing contract management activities and recommend actions, liaising with Commercial Leads, internal departments, and suppliers as needed.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with internal and external suppliers.

This position is based in Manchester, with 2 or 3 days in the office and the remainder working from home.
