About the Role

Our client based in West Drayton are looking for a Quality Manager / Product Technologist / Product Compliance Specialist reporting directly to the Managing Director. Safety is their priority, and this role will help maintain our commitment to this as well as our continuous market growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage compliance, safety, quality and ethical issues for all items distributed.
  • Influence product design working closely with product design at all stages of development.
  • Ensure all products comply with UK and EU regulatory standards (REACH, FCM, EN71), safety, environmental, sustainability and labelling requirements.
  • Determine product test requirements, collect and verify product specifications, conduct risk assessments and maintain necessary technical files.
  • Review all artworks and packaging to ensure accurate and compliant labelling.
  • Monitor product integrity performance in market and take timely action on unacceptable safety/quality issues.
  • Manage product safety reporting and analysis.
  • Conduct technical and ethical auditing to meet customer needs and maintain HOX Global standards (FCA, SMETA, BSCI).
  • Introduce and develop QA tools within product design and introduction process.
  • Maintain and develop consumer complaint and returns analysis system for quality improvement.
  • Oversee inspection criteria at each factory and harmonise inspection policy, procedure, and standards across factories.
  • Maintain and upgrade company quality manual in line with latest regulations and retailer expectations.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in a similar environment.
  • Experience in consumer goods; child care food contact articles is an advantage.
  • Broad business experience including quality, product safety, systems & processes, and operational areas in food contact plastics, printing and some textile.
  • Engineering discipline advantageous for understanding product manufacture and associated risks.
  • Working knowledge of safety regulations and directives – UK and EU essential, including Food Contact and new General Product Safety Regulations; knowledge of global preferred.
  • Problem solving skills with ability to implement practical, effective corrective actions (system and product).
  • Manages multiple licensed projects simultaneously, works calmly under pressure while maintaining excellent attention to detail and customer orientation.
