Job Title: Commercial Director

Overview

As Commercial Director at The Savoy, one of the world’s most iconic five‑star luxury hotels, you will be responsible for shaping and delivering the hotel’s commercial strategy to drive sustainable revenue growth across all business segments. This Executive position oversees the Sales & Marketing Division—including Sales, Marketing & Communications, Reservations, Revenue Management and Event Sales & Planning—while also contributing to Food & Beverage revenue initiatives through pricing strategy, concept development and market positioning.

You will act as a key member of the Executive Committee ensuring commercial excellence whilst enhancing The Savoy’s reputation for an exceptional luxury guest experience.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
  • Develop, lead and execute the hotel’s total revenue strategy across rooms, F&B, events and ancillary revenue streams.
  • Partner with the General Manager to deliver on financial goals, ensuring consistent alignment with The Savoy’s luxury positioning and brand values.
  • Responsible for developing the annual business and marketing plan for the department.
  • Provide commercial insights for the development of F&B concepts, menus and pricing strategies to maximise profitability and market competitiveness.
Sales
  • Lead and inspire the Sales department, ensuring effective collaboration across Sales, Marketing & Communications, Reservations, Revenue and Event Sales & Planning.
  • Drive business from key segments including corporate, leisure, group and high‑net‑worth markets.
  • Participate in tradeshows, conventions and promotional events within the hotel and trade‑related organizations.
  • Ensure and enforce the integrity of Delphi Sales and Catering at all times.
Marketing & Communications
  • Develop and lead the marketing strategy of the hotel.
  • Ensure integrated marketing campaigns that strengthen The Savoy’s global brand presence, highlight its heritage and attract new audiences.
  • Optimise the use of the hotel’s archive and embed storytelling into the guest experience.
Revenue & Reservations
  • Oversee revenue management and distribution strategies, optimising performance across all channels.
  • Work closely with the Revenue Director in preparing monthly forecasts, departmental budgets and space yield maximisation.
  • Ensure a seamless and luxury reservations experience with a focus on conversion, guest satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Analyse market trends and competitor performance, adjusting strategy to maintain The Savoy’s leadership in the luxury segment.
Cross‑Departmental Collaboration
  • Work closely with Rooms, F&B and Events leadership to align pricing, promotions and guest experience initiatives with commercial objectives.
  • Support new concept development in F&B and ensure alignment with guest expectations, market trends and financial targets.
  • Partner with Finance on budgeting, forecasting and performance tracking, ensuring transparency and accountability.
People & Culture
  • Lead, mentor and develop a high‑performing team across multiple disciplines.
  • Foster a culture of commercial curiosity, innovation and accountability, ensuring that all team members are aligned with the hotel’s vision of luxury hospitality.
  • Embed and role‑model The Savoy’s values and culture.
Qualifications
  • Proven senior commercial leadership experience within luxury hospitality, ideally in an iconic five‑star property.
  • Strong track record in revenue optimisation, sales strategy and brand marketing.
  • Deep understanding of luxury guest expectations and the dynamics of global high‑end hospitality markets.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to balance data‑driven decision‑making with creative commercial and entrepreneurial thinking.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication and influencing skills.
