The Vacancy

Let us tell you a bit about the opportunity :

Reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Partner to join a key finance team in Aldermore, assuming responsibility for producing commercially relevant management information and providing ad hoc analysis and support across FP&A and the divisions.

You will be responsible for producing Divisional management reporting and analysis, including the development of high quality, insightful analysis to support a diverse array of reporting. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with key stakeholders across Finance, including, Finance Business Partners, FP&A, Financial Control and Treasury to produce a suite of commercially insightful management information for the changing needs of the business.

The successful candidate will also be expected to look at how we perform our processes today and use their own initiative to drive change for enhancements, including exploring / learning new technologies to help with this and have a key desire for self-development to benefit themselves and the organisation.

This is a fast-paced role which will require attention to detail and supporting the team’s continuous improvement ethos. It will suit an individual who thrives in a changing environment and consistently seeks to deliver high quality analysis and support to the FP&A team.

What will your day look like?
  • Accountable for production of the performance reporting for month end ensuring that slides and commentary for various teams are insightful and relevant to make informed business decisions
  • Required good organisational skills to deliver reporting to tight timelines
  • Providing insight into the future financial position through monitoring of financial projections
  • Analysis of current and past trends of key performance indicators including revenue, impairments and balance sheet to understand and highlight variances, providing relevant insight to management to assist with decision-making.
  • Enhance the quality of the reports and improve consistency, using automation where appropriate to help drive better business outcomes
  • Develop long lasting, meaningful relationships across Finance & Treasury to support self and business improvement.
What do we expect from you?
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Data analysis and data visualisation skills are desirable (e.g. SQL, Python, Tableau)
  • Highly numerate and familiar with key banking financials and drivers of performance
  • Knowledge and experience of reporting to senior management
  • Ability to easily determine the key drivers of a result and associated KPIs and articulately explain the “story”
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong data management skills with the ability to manipulate and assess complex data and ideally (but not essential) some previous exposure to Anaplan or a similar planning tool
  • A strong team player, self-motivated, proactive and able to use own initiative
  • Willing to push themselves to explore / learn new things including embracing new technologies to do things better vs today
