Job description
Overview

Choices College (formerly Project Choice) is a supported internship programme that aims to support young adults with learning difficulties, disabilities or autism to become employment ready.

You will work closely with the Area Manager in delivering the College's outcomes and maintaining an employment transition rate for students at above 75%. You will play a key role in ensuring the programme meets the needs of the students, employers and regulatory bodies.

Willingness to travel in the London area is essential.

A passion for supporting students with SEN to meet their full potential is essential for this role. The post holder will hold a teaching qualification or have recent experience in supporting the education of students with SEN in the classroom and work placement. They will have the skills and experience to adapt working practices to suit the learning needs of individual students using Training in Systematic Instruction methodologies.

Responsibilities
  • Support, monitor and record individual student progress and reinforce employability skills by delivering sessions in a classroom setting.
  • Deliver bespoke training to mentors and source new employers to provide placements/employment transitions for students.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Teaching qualification or recent experience in supporting the education of students with SEN in the classroom and work placement.
  • Ability to adapt working practices to meet individual learning needs using Training in Systematic Instruction methodologies.
  • Confident communicator with excellent motivating skills.
  • Highly organised and efficient in using MS Office packages.

  • Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
